Henry defends titles at All Jamaica Senior Badminton Championships!

The All Jamaica Senior and Masters Badminton Championships 2015 serves off this morning at the Constant Spring Golf Club Racquets complex at9:00 am.
Gareth Henry, Jamaica’s number one player, is the defending triple champion in the Men’s Singles, Men’s Doubles (with long-standing partner, Garron Palmer) and Mixed Doubles (with sister, Geordine Henry, who is just returning from retirement). To retain his title, Henry will have to see off challenges from the national junior champion, Matthew Lee, number 2 seed and junior, Shane Wilson, past junior champion, Samuel Ricketts, who is returning from injury, Che Beckford, number 4 seed, and returning, past national champion, Bradley Graham, amongst others.
In the women’s singles, number one seed, Katherine Wynter, is also prepared to defend her title with the main challenge arising from long time opponent, Ruth Williams, the number 2 seed.
The Masters’ Men’s Singles in the absence of defending champion, Dave Thompson, has new-comer, Albert Myles (past national player), challenging 2014 runner-up, James Cao, for the title. They both will face keen competition from the rest of the field, from the likes of David Thomas, President of the Association, Warren Nelson, Christopher Edwards and past president, Joseph Clarke.

The tournament, which will conclude with the Finals tomorrow evening at 5:30 pm, will feature play in men’s and women’s singles, doubles and mixed events as well as past champions competing in the over 40 Masters Events.
