BWF Level 2 coaching clinic for Jamaica!

Jamaica has been chosen as host of Coach Level 2 English-speaking Pilot for Tutors and Coaches to be held October 24-30, 2015 at the Sports Development Foundation and the YMCA, in Kingston, Jamaica.

The coaching course is being hosted by the Jamaica Badminton Association in association with the Pan Am Badminton Confederation, with support provided by Olympic Solidarity through the Jamaica Olympic Association.

The expert, Francisco Dacal from Spain, will deliver the course, which is currently the highest standard available, to 9 Jamaican coaches as well as 1 Barbadian coach. Also present will be Director of Development of the Pan Am Badminton Confederation, Mr. German Valdez, who will be in attendance for the first 2 days of the course.

The course is part of the Jamaica Badminton Association’s ongoing strategy to improve the standard of coaching in Jamaica and follows approximately one year after the BWF Level 1 coaching course held in Kingston, November 2014. Coaches selected to attend the course include Technical Director, Howard Ranger, National Coaches Alya Lewis and Neil Lewis, Junior Coach, Lisco Jackson, Gregory Wong, Audley Astwood, Ann Marie Watson, Devon Wisdom, Prudence Brown, Dalton Reid and Barbadian, Shakeira Waithe.
